Apple Crumble (Flourless, GlutenFree)
“An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Thanks to its high fiber content and flavonoid called quercetin, studies found that eating apples can help lower risk of stroke, high blood pressure, and heart related disease.
Tip : Don't peel-off the skin though, the apple skin has the most cancer-fighting antioxidants. Just wash them clean.
One of the best ways to get apples in your diet is our all-time favourite breakfast / desserts - Stewed Apples with Crumbles (from our gourmet oatmeal). The combination of crisp, crunch, sweetness from the crumble with warm soft stewed apples will keep you wanting more.
INGREDIENTS (makes 2) :-
Stewed apple base :-
- 1 apple (diced evenly)
- 1/3C water
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (Optional)
- 2-3 Tbs of raisins / cranberries (Optional)
- 2 packets Cinnamon Raisin Roll
- 3 Tbs of coconut oil
- 1 Tbs organic maple syrup (optional if you prefer them sweeter)
Preheat oven at 180'C
Heat apple, raisins, ground cinnamon, water in a pot and simmer for 10-15 minutes until apples are soft
Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, add coconut oil to GO BASIX Cinnamon Raisin Roll and stir well
Once apples ready, pour into an oven dish and add oatmeal on-top (tip: press oatmeal until even on apples)
Place in the oven on 180'C for 20-25 minutes.
Cool off and serve with some coconut/vanilla yoghurt/ice-cream.
